What lesson is God teaching me? V. 1 There was sin of sexual immorality in the church of Corinth, to a degree that would even shock those outside the church. Sin can permeate a church since the church is a community of weak people. However, if a church commits sins that even people outside of the church do not commit, it is very serious. Examine our church, whether it has such sin, and repent.
V. 2 The church of Corinth ignored and covered a sin that surprised even those who did not follow Christ. Paul was indignant that the Corinthian believers did not deal with their sin seriously. Church is a loving community and a holy community where the Holy Spirit dwells. Therefore, a church should grieve for the sins of its members, and rebuke them with love.
Vv. 3-5 We must resist against sin and eradicate it from the church no matter what the cost. By doing this we can keep our church holy and help people, including those who have sinned, to resist sin. Which sin does our church have that we should grieve over and specifically address?
Vv. 6-8 We must clear away old yeast even if it is a very small amount. Yeast symbolizes sin. Just as a minute amount of yeast is used to raise the entire lump of dough, a small sin can permeate the community and destroy the entire group. Therefore, be alert and do not allow any small sin in our community. And also remember that my hidden sin can destroy those around me. If you have any hidden sin in you, get rid of it immediately.
Let me remember the price paid by Jesus Christ, who shed his blood, and help me to keep away from sin. ÇÇ Èê·Á Á×À¸½Å ±×¸®½ºµµÀÇ ÀºÇý¸¦ ±â¾ïÇϸç Á˸¦ ¸Ö¸®ÇÏ°Ô ÇϼҼ.
